Reblogging to find later to share with my kids during our reading of Mixed-Up Files.
So I saw this. And I was like- I have to reblog this for mrsjdr! And then I looked… And she was the one who had posted it.
(via mrsjdr)
To fuel Beanni’s OTP, I present the following:
Last night, mrsjdr and I decided to make a chocolate raspberry cake. For some reason, baking at her house pretty much always involves/ends in hilarity.
The batter began promisingly. Boxed batter + oil + water + eggs = noms. The cakes came out of the oven looking beautiful, as well. Moist and delicious-looking, certainly. We also made a homemade raspberry sauce (frozen raspberries + sugar + lemon juice + probably too much cornstarch because it wasn’t thickening as it should’ve been). We used an ice bath to cool it and waited patiently for the sauce to thicken. Mrsjdr took one of the cakes out of its pan. We had a minor issue, but it was resolvable. Somehow the sauce never thickened as it ought to have. We spread it on anyway and added the top layer of the cake.
The title of the third picture, we have decided, is called “vampburger.” We had a good laugh over that.
Then we decided to frost the cake. The fourth photo is “crime scene.”
The cake was delicious. And delightful. I think we’ll be trying again sometime in the future. Maybe.
Thinkbrit and Mrsjdr are my OTP.
We were being our goofy selves, naturally, and we stopped to peruse momentarily.
Mrsjdr was telling me about another joke mrjdr had gotten her with: she was doing something at home and had looked away (at which point, I looked away to continue to debate whether or not I wanted a roast), and then I turned back to hear the rest of the story just in time to witness the punch line of the story she’d been telling. “So then I turned around and mrjdr was standing there like THIS.”
(Story continues under the cut because, well, yes.)
In part because we are doing this.
Barenaked Ladies. Ben Folds Five. Guster.
BNL. Ben Folds.
I can’t even contain my excitement.
This is SO. COOL.
I actually checked to see if I could manage this too but Kate and I just scored tickets to Dawes in Brookyln (<3) so it’s a no.
HAVE FUN. Are you doing one spot? More than one spot?
Just one - we’re seeing them at Red Rocks, which (and mrsjdr will argue this one with me) is one of the best places for a concert ever.
You just can’t mind the smell of smoke of all kinds.

AAAAHHHH it’s so CUUUTE! Brittany! Look how CUTE! Can we get one?!
I haz one. I am not sure why this picture appears to be displayed upside down. It is my Tonksy when she was a baby kitten.
Remember when she was that tiny?
Clara Faile (right) stars as Peter Pan and Lauren Nitka plays Wendy in Greendale High School’s production of ‘Peter Pan’. Clara has Tourette syndrome. But when she’s acting, the tics and anxiety caused by the nervous-system disorder disappear. ‘It’s the instant healer,’ she says.
Please watch the video also. Almost made me cry.
MRSJDR. I thought of you as soon as I saw this. Share this with your children. :)
Happy birthday, lovely mrsjdr!
I can’t wait to celebrate your amazingness this weekend.
Tumblrfriends, this lady is truly amazing - just as compassionate, caring, and thoughtful as she is right here on tumblr. I am so lucky to be her friend in real life.
Go wish her a happy birthday. She deserves every single good wish she gets.
Love you, buddy!
So that’s one a month for 4 months. Plus I ran one in January. And yet I still don’t think of myself as a runner… probably because I don’t really train. I might want to get on that.
