As of late, recalcitrant.
Although Thursday’s word of the day from our new calendar was hydromancy and we had a conversation about divination and HP. When the kids left a couple girls gave me a high-five and said, “hydromancy!” It was pretty epic.
Tintinnabulation. It was the first one that popped into my head and now I can’t think of any others. I’m a fan of effective onomatopoetic words. And I remember reading this one in middle school when reading Poe’s “The Bells” and falling in love with it.
(Really, though, what’s not to love?
Hear the sledges with the bells-
What a world of merriment their melody foretells!
How they tinkle, tinkle, tinkle,
In the icy air of night!
While the stars that oversprinkle
All the heavens, seem to twinkle
With a crystalline delight;
Keeping time, time, time,
In a sort of Runic rhyme,
To the tintinnabulation that so musically wells
From the bells, bells, bells, bells,
Bells, bells, bells-
From the jingling and the tinkling of the bells.
